Eagle Mountain: A Scottsdale Wedding and Special Event Venue Overlooking the Valley of the Sun

The Overlook Pavilion’s mountaintop location is sure to amaze and impress

Scottsdale is known for lush Sonoran Desert, fiery sunsets and panoramic views stretching to the horizon. Add a thousand feet of elevation, and those vistas just keep getting better. Eagle Mountain Golf Club’s unique location high in the McDowell Mountains makes it one of Scottsdale’s premier places to host weddings and special events.

They don’t call it “Overlook” for nothing

All the action begins at the Overlook Pavilion, a roomy event hall completely encased by windows to take full advantage of the dreamy views of the golf course and mountains in the foreground as well as the southeast Valley of the Sun below.

“The location is just so different than most wedding and reception places in Scottsdale,” said Monica Vogel, Special Events Coordinator for Eagle Mountain Golf Club. “The Pavilion, the wedding arbor area and lawn all focus on the amazing views. It’s fun to walk people through it and watch their reactions. It gives off a very romantic type of feel.”

As Vogel mentioned, from the guest’s vantage point, the ground falls away just a few feet behind the bride and groom in what could be described as a grassy version of an infinity edge more commonly found in the swimming pools of the surrounding neighborhoods. Desert mountain peaks bend the afternoon sunlight to produce long shadows that give the area an almost magical mood at twilight.

“We really like to complement our incredible venue with dining options and services of the same caliber,” said Brian Gillmore, Food and Beverage Director for Eagle Mountain Golf Club. “Our team has the expertise and latitude to bring the bride and groom’s vision to life. The location seems to put guests into the right frame of mind from the get-go; we simply build on that with what we do.”

More than a wedding venue

And weddings aren’t the only thing they do. The Overlook Pavilion as well as the patio and clubhouse dining area offer ample space for any number of special events. Birthday parties, corporate meetings, professional seminars, bar and bat mitzvahs, family reunions, conferences, charity fundraisers and award ceremonies are just a few examples.

“Although golf groups and weddings make up the bulk of our events, we do get a wide range of inquiries,” said Gillmore. “We’re happy to accommodate just about any type of special event.”

Nearby lodging

In terms of nearby lodging to accommodate out-of-town guests, several options are available, one of which, the Inn at Eagle Mountain, is located a stone’s throw away alongside the 18th fairway. A few others include CopperWynd Resort, We-Ko-Pa Resort, Courtyard by Marriott Scottsdale at Mayo Clinic, Centerstone Plaza Hotel, Comfort Inn Fountain Hills and several others along the Shea Boulevard corridor.
